Dine in opulence and style at the Taj Lands End

Mumbai is such a fascinating city. There is so much going on but sometimes you just need a break from the hustle and bustle and a step into something more relaxing. We had had a pretty hectic morning when we stopped off at the Taj Lands End. We had hunted for a pharmacy, got caught in a Monsoon (proof below!) and been shopping around the markets. By the time we came across the Taj we needed a break! We had already visited the Taj Palace Hotel by the Gateway to India on several occasions and  had stayed in a Taj in Kerala so we knew that when visiting a Taj you are greeted by excellent service and oppulence. 

Like with all Taj Hotels, the experience starts upon your arrival. A doorman greeted us and when we said we just wanted to stop for a drink, he directed us to a beautiful bar to the right of the entrance. Like with anywhere in India, table service is a given. We ordered champagne (well it was our honeymoon!) from our waiter and enjoyed sipping it in magnificent surroundings. It was a great place to people watch with many well to-do Mumbaikers conducting business meetings in the bar. We hadn’t planned on eating but when we saw the menu, we had to! We ordered a paneer wrap and a selection of canapés, all of which were delicious.  

 

Having eaten and stayed at Taj Hotels before, it was great to try out one more and see what it had to offer. I would highly reccomend the food, drink and service at the Taj Land End and if those three are anything to go by, I’m sure that it would make an excellent base for any Mumbai holiday too.
