The iconic images of trucks with horn ok please printed on their sides, could soon be a thing of the past in parts of India.
The government of Maharashtra, the state which Mumbai is situated in, has this week issued guidance stating that commercial vehicles will no longer be allowed to display the sign on their vehicle.
In many ways it makes sense. When you walk down a road in India, all you hear is endless honking which means it totally defeats the point of the horn being honked to draw attention to those nearby.
Despite this, I will still be dissapointed to see the sign go. It is one of those iconic sights that you expect to spot on any trip to India!
