In the midst of all my India excitement, I’m thinking back to an amazing meal I had over the summer at a place called Bar Shu and just wanted to share it here.
Situated in the heart of Soho, BarShu isn’t your typical Chinese restaurant (it also isn’t a bar, despite its name). It’s a beautiful little restaurant which quite possibly has the most authentic Szechuan Chinese food in London, supported by the fact that we were the only white Europeans in there – everyone else appeared to be of Chinese heritage.
The food was truly delicious. I can’t even really describe it other than to say it wasn’t your typical glup that you’d get at your local take away. It seemed to be Chinese food aimed at people who know what they are talking about when it comes to Chinese food, not Chinese food aimed at those with typical European tastebuds.
A few pictures are below but they really don’t do this place justice. I really recommend checking this place out next time you are looking for somewhere to eat in central London.
Address: Bar Shu, 28 Frith Street, W1D 5LF
